Being the Church Differently is a gathering for people exploring and experimenting with innovative ways of ‘being the church’ today, held at the Centre for Ministry, 4th March 2017, 9.30am – 5pm.
This day is an opportunity to connect with others excited about Mission Pioneering, Fresh Expressions, or whatever terms helps you describe being church differently. We understand ‘being church differently’ to mean seeking to grow expressions of Christian community with people who ‘don’t do church’, enabling ways of discipleship and Christian life that connects them with God and one another. The aim of the gathering is to share both encouraging signs of life and what we are learning from experience, to network and encourage both newcomers and old-hands, connect active expressions for peer learning, and provide spaces for creativity to be nurtured.
There will be two streams on the day – one for those who are keen to learn more about the basics of mission pioneering and fresh expressions, and some next steps for how local churches can seek to engage with their local community. The second stream is for pioneer practitioners looking to connect and engage in peer learning and reflection, with some shared time for creative collaboration and encouragement.
Registrations are now open (via Eventbrite).
