The recent census highlights that an increasing number of Australians have little to no experience of traditional expressions of church and are not that interested. However, research also supports the idea that many people are interested in exploring and meaning making, regarding themselves as perhaps ‘spiritual but not religious’.
You are warmly invited to participate in one of two Saturdays that Uniting Mission and Education will be running to help you begin an exploration of ‘mission shaped ministry’ or ‘being church’ in ways that will support the mission context we find ourselves in today.
Mission shaped introduction days will explore these ideas through teaching, story, and reflection and ask how we may all, individually and collectively, understand and equip ourselves to discover and participate in the mission of Jesus Christ where we live and work, for the sake of the world.
This day is ideal for individuals or groups who are interested in learning about and participating in mission, and also for leadership teams with responsibility for fostering discipleship and shaping church engagement with the community.
