The Uniting Church of Australia (UCA) is one of the largest not for profit and faith-based organisations in Australia and is currently advertising for a new role: Head of Vital Leadership.
Uniting Mission and Education (UME), as one of four boards of the Synod of NSW and the ACT, has the role of leading and resourcing the Synod in discipleship, mission and leadership in order to serve Christ. UME also assists the Church to provide education, theological insight, strategy, research and resources for leadership, discipleship, ministry and mission. UME manages the operations of United Theological College (UTC), a partner in the Charles Sturt University, School of Theology.
The Head of Vital Leadership will have responsibility for the development and implementation of strategies relating to the formation of leaders in discipleship, mission and for leadership for the Synod of NSW and the ACT. This position reports to the Executive Director, Uniting Mission and Education, and is a member of the UME Leadership Team.
The Head of Vital Leadership will lead the Vital Leadership Team to equip and form UCA lay and ordained members as active disciples of Christ with skills in mission and leadership, through the development and delivery of effective, unique and contextually relevant education and training.
The role is tasked with strategic and operational oversight of the Vital Leadership team. It will embed measurable quality in every aspect of the work of the team members and volunteers, so as to address the needs of people in UCA presbyteries, congregations, missions, agencies and schools.
