Living Our Faith

The Living Our Faith Series seeks to equip and encourage an active faith.  Thankful for the legacy of ELM, the revised material offers groups and congregations the chance to learn together with a view of making a difference to their local communities.

Four subjects are explored, alongside sessions on worship leading and preaching:

  • Old Testament,
  • New Testament,
  • Exploring Theology, and
  • Proclaiming Jesus Christ.

Each subject can be studied as an intensive (often over two weekends), or as a week-long course.

In 2016 a one-day Worship Workshop will also be added as a pre-requisite to the completion of the course.

While the Living Our Faith series is one pathway leading to accreditation as a Lay Preacher within the Uniting Church in Australia, its real focus is to bring people together in collaborative groups to learn of the wonder and grace of our God – and then send them back to their communities, inspired and equipped to bring it all to life.

Each unit is available for presbytery use.  UME will train, equip and support potential educators, as well as provide course material.
