Mission Shaped Ministry Course | Terrigal | Session 1 of 5

Part-time course, split over 4 Saturdays & 1 Weekend Residential School during 2018.

This is a part-time course inviting participants into learning communities – exploring and experimenting, while learning together.  It will be ideal for those already trying new ideas, or those with a heart for being the church differently.

The course includes:  mentoring, ecumenical explorations, and action-reflection learning opportunities.

Cost:
 Unsponsored Individual at full cost:  $400 per person
 Participant Contribution by
Sponsored Individual, or Group †:
 $150 per person *

† Paid by those to be sponsored a further $250 per individual/group by their congregation/faith community.

* As your congregation/faith community will be invoiced for a further $250, please receive the approval of your Church Council before registering as a sponsored individual or group.

 

Note to Church Councils & Faith Communities about Funding and Sponsorship Arrangements:

To incentivise the participation of groups in this course, funding arrangements are in place between the Synod & the Presbytery, so that congregations/faith communities will be invoiced no more than $250 to sponsor their approved participant(s) in the course, i.e.

  1. if one participant registers; the sponsorship amount invoiced to the congregation/faith community will be $250,
  2. if two, or more, participants register; the sponsorship amount invoiced to the congregation/faith community, will still be $250 in total.

Payment Processing Instructions:

To complete your registration using the ‘Pay with a Card’ option:

  1. select the quantity of tickets you wish to purchase.  Then,
  2. click on the green ‘Order Now’ button.  Then,
  3. complete the Online Registration Form that appears next.  Then,
  4. click on either the: MasterCard, Visa, or PayPal icons that appear at the bottom of the registration form to progress to payment processing.  Then,
  5. select your preferred method of payment (i.e. ‘Pay with a Card’ – the grey button that appears on the screen).  Then,
  6. on the following ‘PayPal Guest Checkout’ screen, submit your: credit card, billing address, and contact details, then click ‘Pay Now’ to complete your purchase.
    (When paying with a card, you are under no obligation to accept the offer to: ‘Create a PayPal account?’ near the bottom of the checkout screen, in order to process your payment successfully.)

To complete your registration using the ‘Pay By Cheque’ option:

  1. select the quantity of registration tickets you wish to purchase.  Then,
  2. click on the green ‘Order Now’ button.  Then,
  3. complete the Online Registration Form that appears next.  Then,
  4. click on the blue word ‘Show’ that appears under the ‘Other Payment Options’ text at the bottom of the registration form.  Then,
  5. click on the blue ‘Pay By Cheque’ button that appears at the bottom of the registration form to complete your registration.  Then,
  6. post your cheque, made payable to: ‘Uniting Mission and Education’, to the address provided on your invoice.

To complete your registration using the ‘Send Invoice’ option:

  1. select the quantity of registration tickets you wish to purchase. Then,
  2. click on the green ‘Order Now’ button. Then,
  3. complete the Online Registration Form that appears next. Then,
  4. click on the blue word ‘Show’ that appears under the ‘Other Payment Options’ text at the bottom of the registration form. Then,
  5. click on the blue ‘Send Invoice’ button that appears at the bottom of the registration form to complete your registration. Then,
  6. make payment to the UME’s bank account as per the details provided on the invoice attached to the registration confirmation e-mail that is generated at the time of completing your registration.

Please, no cash upon arrival at the event.

Mission Shaped Ministry Programs at Uniting Mission & Education
What does it look like when we build Christian discipleship communities shaped by people who aren’t yet members of any church?
How do we establish missional communities where people can encounter and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ without having to step into a church building?
In 2018, the NSW ACT Synod is launching Mission Shaped Ministry, a program originally created in the UK as part of the Fresh Expressions movement.
The Mission Shaped Ministry courses are being delivered by teams from UME, Uniting, Parramatta Nepean and Sydney Central Coast Presbyteries.
Experiential and reflective learning increase the capacity and learning in this field which is still relatively new.
