The Uniting Church of Australia (UCA) is one of the largest not for profit and faith-based organisations in Australia and is advertising for a new role: Head of Mission Enablement.
Uniting Mission and Education (UME), as one of four boards of the Synod of NSW and the ACT, has the role of leading and resourcing the Synod in discipleship, mission and leadership in order to serve Christ. UME also assists the Church to provide education, theological insight, strategy, research and resources for leadership, discipleship, ministry and mission. UME manages the operations of United Theological College (UTC), a partner in the Charles Sturt University, School of Theology.
As a key Mission Leader, the Head of Mission Enablement will provide leadership in regards to mission to the Synod, and the UME Board. This position reports to the Executive Director, and as a member of the UME Leadership Team, shares in a broad responsibility to assist the Church in leadership, discipleship, ministry and mission.
The Head of Mission Enablement will lead a team that encourages the development and delivery of a unique and distinctive mission enablement experience that addresses the needs of leaders in our presbyteries, congregations, missions, schools and UCA agencies. They will provide oversight of project work involving a range of staff and volunteers, including staff placed within the Mission Enablement Team, Rural and Remote Ministry Initiatives and other teams.
