What does it look like when we build Christian discipleship communities shaped by people who aren’t yet members of any church?
How do we establish missional communities where people can encounter and live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ without having to step into a church building?
In 2018, the NSW ACT Synod is launching Mission Shaped Ministry, a program originally created in the UK as part of the Fresh Expressions movement.
The Mission Shaped Ministry courses are being delivered by teams from UME, Uniting, Parramatta Nepean and Sydney Central Coast Presbyteries.
Mission Shaped Ministry (MSM) is one year part-time learning journey exploring innovation in a supportive community. The Mission Shaped Ministry 2018 is designed to equip you for a lifetime of good practice and learning in planting and sustaining communities of innovation.
Run over four Saturdays and a weekend, MSM 2018 is designed for busy Christians, delivered ecumenically, with varied learning styles and resources. A team of educators from Australia and New Zealand help you reflect on your context and story, with coaching/mentoring support as well.
MSM is for congregations or faith communities looking to try new approaches to their life in the local community, and groups of people who want to start a new expression of the church.
MSM is suitable for people of all denominations, traditions and ages, from urban, suburban and rural contexts. Individuals are most welcome, but we particularly hope that small groups from a church will participate as this will deepen the impact of the course.
MSM will be held over four Saturdays (March 3, May 5, September 1, November 3, and a weekend (July 28-29) at Collaroy Conference Centre.
