‘Facing Challenges, Leading with Hope’ is the theme for this year’s Phase 3 of Ministry Retreat (2–5 September, St Joseph’s Kincumber) – a retreat for all in their first specified ministry placements in the UCA Synod of NSW & ACT.

People of the retreat,
Each of you will have the opportunity to share on your ministry practice in a supportive peer environment. Each person is encouraged to bring one symbol or work of art, song or writing that can be offered as part of the group’s reflections, encouragement and support.
For over 20 years Maureen has taught and researched in the field of the psychology of religion/spirituality. She also consults as a clinical psychologist with clients having a religious worldview. Current collaborative research projects include the antecedents and consequences of burnout and work engagement in church leaders; the impact of attachment to God on psychological health and well-being; and personal, professional and spiritual formation.
From the social worker who became a postman, to the postman who became a pastor, Graham’s journey has led him to share in great joy and great sadness, both in his own life and through the lives of people who have fallen by the wayside. With a unique ability to connect people, Graham captivates people with his personal stories and his deep insight about love, hate, power and the ‘self’. He challenges people to reflect on their contribution to society and he inspires people to live as if their last minute was to happen today.
Lead facilitator Rev Ben Gilmour, and a variety of Uniting Church leaders from across the Synod will lead worship and devotions across the retreat.
