2017 Field Days are here!

All of our UME family would like to wish our 2017 Field day participants, leaders and presenters a wonderful four days of learning, networking, exploration and personal development Sat 26 – Tues 29 August in Dubbo.

Our 2017 Field Days are all set to explore the theme of HEALTHY CHURCHES and registrations are closing soon!

What are Field Days?
Every two years Uniting Mission & Education’s (UME) Rural Ministry Unit bring together communities and people from rural, regional and metropolitan areas to celebrate life and faith, and for personal and professional development.
This August 26 – 29, the Field Days are being hosted by Dubbo Uniting Church.

What is the theme of the Field Days?
Healthy Churches.
In talking with many rural congregations, growing healthy churches was of strong interest to many. Growing Healthy Churches is designed to assist rural churches, small or large, with a broad range of information, tools and resources to nurture and grow healthy faith, relationships and relevance.

What do we explore at the Field Days?
The four-day conference provides a great learning environment where participants explore Healthy Church sessions such as: healthy decision making and church participation, health checks for congregations, church in a 24/7 world, social media, culture change exploration, growing a healthy church in a healthy environment and much more…
The guest speaker, Lisa Wells brings a wealth of experience from rural ministry in New Zealand, and the workshops are interactive, sharing the knowledge and wisdom each person brings.
On Sunday morning, we will welcome the new Director for Rural and Remote Ministry, Reverend Mark Faulkner, and induct him into his new role.
We will hear from our rural chaplains and ministry agents and will also thank and farewell other key leaders as they move to new roles and stages in life.
Plus, our social time across the weekend gives participants the chance to extend their own communities, meet new people, socialise and enjoy each other’s company.
And you won’t want to miss our Saturday evening Trivia night!

Who presents, leads and coordinates the Field Days?
The UME Resourcing Team will be in full swing, along with Christine Sorensen, the Dean of Formation based at United Theological college.
There will be faces you may know and new ones to meet – all excited to share faith and friendship as we seek to be the best church we can.

Who should attend the Field days?
Congregation members looking to learn more about their faith and how to share within their own churches.
Church councils seeking to be more relevant in their local communities, and to upskill their governance and oversight capacity.
People on a journey of formation and personal development.
Individuals that may be looking to explore leadership, ministry and who are keen to spend time with like-minded individuals as they continue their ministerial learning journey.

What do we have the opportunity to learn?
There is simply too much to list here – we invite you to;
